Mr Holmes (2015)

I love all things to do with Sherlock Holmes. It was with interest, therefore, that I watched Bill Condon's 2015 Mr Holmes. Played by Sir Ian McKellan, Holmes is an old man living a retired life in the 1940s. Watson married long ago and is now dead. Holmes requires the care of his house keeper and her young son. It's a pleasant tale really, and seeks to grapple with one of the major issues of our day- care for the elderly and the development of dementia. 

 

Sadly, our bodies sometimes outlive our minds. When Christ was on earth, he healed both minds and bodies; now in heaven, He shall renew and permanently restore both minds and bodies at the resurrection. We usually think about the resurrection of the body; you'll find, however, that our minds are also raised.
