Quietly Singing in the Storm

This picture was taken in last week's gales and torrential rain. I entered my kitchen to hear a faint sound. I put my head to the window and saw a female blackbird sheltering on the window ledge, in my porch. She was quietly singing to herself, while keeping dry from the storm. What a picture! And what a beautiful sound. When life's troubles harangue us, shelter in the Lord, in the shadow of His wing. Let the winds blow and the rains pour. The believer is sheltered, and because of this, we can sing.

 Psalm 5:11

But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You
