Golden Hindes

This post box has been painted gold by Royal Mail to celebrate Philip Hindes, Gold Medal winner London 2012 Olympic Games Cycling: Track - Men's Team Sprint

So reads the postbox in Manchester’s centre. Mr Hindes MBE went on to win gold again at the 2016 Olympics, so he likely has another golden pillar box painted in his honour. Unfortunately, some bright spark at Royal Mail has seen fit to render redundant this one. This is something of an affront to the one in whose honour it was painted, and to those who wish to post their mail here.

All worldly glory, honour and adulations fade and diminish, even when thoroughly deserved and equitably awarded. Only the honour bestowed by Him who is eternal will stand time’s test; only His rewards will be enjoyed through eternity when all others are long forgotten.

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” -Revelation 22:12, NKJV
