Look Up

The little red spot on the picture above is my friend, Julie. With her is Cookie, a springer spaniel. We called to Cookie from the top of Darwen Tower and he looked in our direction, but not up to our altitude. Consequently, he heard, but never saw.

Many today want to express gratitude for life’s good things, for creation’s beauty, for providence’s blessing. Yet because they refuse to look up to the heavens and address the great God Himself, they are always seeking but never finding, looking but never beholding. The Lord Jesus remarked in Mark 4:12:

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

In a different context, He also said in Luke 21:28:

Then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

If you know there is more meaning to life than godlessness or fake religion tells you, look up to the King of heaven.
