Silver Lace Vine

This fallopia aubertii, better known as silver lace vine, I found growing at Staithes not far from Whitby. Although a pleasant flower it is part of the infamous Polygonaceae or knotweed family. These are some of the most prolific weeds to vex the gardener. While its attractiveness to man and bee cannot be denied, its propensity to dominate cannot be ignored. Beware of beautiful things and beautiful people who would not just be a part of your life, they would own it, given the chance. Only Christ is beautiful enough to warrant your love and benevolent enough to surrender your freedom.
