View from St Patrick's Chapel

At Heysham Head, the ruinous chapel of St Patrick, dating to the eighth or seventh century, sits contentedly. Through the old Saxon doorway, one sees not a dark interior, but a fine view of Morecambe Bay, with the Lakeland mountains beyond. This is one of the best views in the county, and all through a chapel’s doorway. I pray that we at Salem Chapel shall this morning behold from afar the glories of heaven and the King in all His beauty as we gather for worship, prayer and exhortation. Our church is not ruined, but it is imperfect; yet from it, I trust, better things are seen and heard.
