You are invited!

Invitations make you feel wanted. Someone, somewhere, thinks you are special, wants you to be with them, to spend time together and enjoy each other’s company.

My own family have received a sudden such spate of requests from friends for us to attend different celebrations - including one for my brother from King Charles to go to one of his Garden Parties at Buckingham Palace.

However, even surpassing my husband’s invitation to spend the rest of my life with him is the invitation that God Almighty gives; mercifully and graciously, He invites us to come to Him, be with Him and to enjoy His presence forever. His invitation is open to all - the dying thief, the poor, the rich, the aged sinner, the intellectual, the outcast, the children…

‘Come to Me, all you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matt.11:28

 ‘All that the Father gives Me will come to Me,

And the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.’

John 6:37

No gift is needed on our part to earn our salvation but rather God Himself gives us eternal life when we trust Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

Just as I am without one plea,

But that Thy blood was shed for me,

And that Thou bid’st me come to Thee

O Lamb of God I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,

Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse relieve;

Because Thy promise I believe,

O Lamb of God I come, I come.’
