Castle Sowerby Chapel

As we drove about the lanes of Cumberland last month, my companion and I stumbled across a rare sight in godless Britain: a new church. On its information board were the week’s meetings including youth work, a Sunday evening service and a midweek Bible Study. At the bottom were the wonderful words:

Proclaiming the good news of God’s grace

Although the design appears to be traditional with long windows with rounded arches, it sits astride an impressive car park and there appears to be additional meeting rooms at the top and around the back. Here is a traditional-looking evangelical church in a rural setting with the benefits of generous parking and a good design. How we at Salem Chapel might envy the good folk of Castle Sowerby! I have prayed God's blessing upon it and them.
