Time

The Craft Group meets in the upper room fortnightly (opposite week to Joyful Noise) on a Monday afternoon from 1pm till about 5pm (check bulletin for dates).

What to expect

A warm friendly welcome to all, no experience required. . We meet very informally, in a relaxed atmosphere, we are flexible. have a brew, have a go at a craft and have a chat.Once a month there will be a craft you can have a go at or sit and watch and encourage others, The other session you can bring your own.

If you would like to bring some of your own work to finish off or just need a little help to complete your project, there may be someone within the group who is able to share their variety of knowledge, help and encouragement with you. We could also come together again for another joint project for the Chapel. Also look at suitable craft items to make for the spring effort.

The Group will be part of outreach to the local community, meet up and have fellowship and to encourage and learn from each other in various crafts.

History

It was suggested to maybe make a new banner to mark the special occasion of the Bi-centenary in August 2016. So with much discussion, ideas, drawings a group came together in February 2016.

We could not have done it without each other, we all have our strengths and weaknesses and we give thanks to the Lord for bringing us together on such a special project. The Banner was made and now hangs in the Chapel.

We now wish to continue meeting under a new name “MARTIN TOP CRAFT GROUP” every fortnight at 6.30pm and encourage others to come along and join in with various crafts or just have a chat and fellowship. Some suggested crafts Iris folding, card stitching, box making, card gift boxes, patchwork, knitting, crochet, tapestry, calligraphy, pom poms, flower arranging, corsage wiring, cake decoration, wired sugar flowers etc

The Lord has helped this Chapel for over 200 years to stick firmly to faithfully preaching the Gospel, outreach, and stay open when so many churches are closing their doors. May the Lord continue to guide and bless this place now and in years to come that it will remain faithful to preaching the Gospel, hearing His word and sharing our faith.
