Deactivating Divine Destiny

Oh shucks. I have already missed the 2023 Activating Divine Destiny: 10 Day Equipping Intensive online conference. The group’s Facebook page can boast 15,883 total members, of which 1,419 joined in the last week. So what have they enjoyed that I have missed?

JOIN OUR 10-DAY SUMMER EQUIPPING INTENSIVE AUGUST 7 - 16TH: This is a season for sharpening our spiritual edge! If ever there was a time to press into what is available to us in the Spirit, it is now. All of creation is groaning, and we owe the world around us an encounter with God!

Which god they have in mind, I cannot tell; which spirit's availablity, I cannot be certain.

Our online sessions will be held in our private Facebook group and we will be joined by special guest speakers Bill Johnson, Steffany Gretzinger, Heidi Baker, Andrew Wommack, Dan McCollam, Keith Ferrante, Brian Simmons, Shawn Bolz, Patricia King, Preethy Kurian, Tracey Armstrong and our prophetic ministry team from GCSSM.

In all truth, I would pay good money to send these characters to the moon, and leave them there. What they can teach the serious and sincere follower of Jesus Christ can be written on the back of a fag packet. It goes on:

We look forward to seeing you soon! As you interact with like-minded believers, our goal is to:

Strengthen your understanding of who you are in Christ

Equip and empower you to walk in the gifts of the Holy Spirit

Help you discover your divine destiny

The first and third objectives would be best met by reading and studying God’s word. The second is a means to an end, never a goal in itself. The fact that the advert closes with a quote from a mickey-mouse Bible paraphrase says it all:

"The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God's glorious sons and daughters!" - Rom 8:19 The Passion Translation

I suspect that the universe is not standing on its tiptoes. Rather, the demons fall about laughing while the angels hide their blushes; fools are deceived while charlatans are enriched. This sort of tom-foolery deactivates your divine destiny; it massages pride, inflates egos and robs local churches of their members' energy and committment.

These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Jude 12-13
