Five Rings

Five Golden Rings may refer to the first five books of the Old Testament, known as the Pentateuch: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These are the heart of Torah, the law of God. While no longer suffering its penalties, it provides the Christian with a detailed moral code, and the non-Christian with a reminder of how condemned he stands before a righteous God. The law points us to Christ; its guilty verdicts cause us to throw ourselves at the Judge’s feet and cry aloud for mercy- which He delights to bestow.

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Ps 51:1
