Lancaster Castle from Within

I was at Lancaster Castle recently. Its massive gatehouse is iconic, a symbol of both town and county. Yet viewed from within, it is barely recognisable (and not just because of the gorgeous blue sky). The internal courtyard offers unique vantage points and perspectives.

People who do not profess saving faith in Jesus Christ will behold God only partially, and from without. He is a mysterious Power, an awesome Potentate, a terrifying Judge. To those within the family of faith, He is a loving friend, a caring Father, an intimate acquaintance. Some things are better seen from within than without.
