Tom's Water

See Tom. He walked behind a bush to obtain access to a little puddle of water that had formed in some tarpaulin used to protect garden furniture from winter’s frosts. From it he lapped up the water, despite my objections. In his bowl was a lovely helping of good, soft, tap water. Yet he preferred to quaff from the puddle filled with decaying vegetation, despite my remonstrations. He might have had his reasons, but why are we so apt to drink from the stinking wells of corruption, rather than the clean waters of Christ?

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14
