Weep for its Workers

Successful business Boohoo is one of the biggest employers in nearby Burnley. Channel 4’s Despatches programme has sent in undercover journalists to find out if complaints raised against the firm were valid. Working on the minimum wage (I have little objection to this- there’s no point having a minimum if it’s wrong to pay it), staff have their pay docked by fifteen minutes for arriving a minute late, are penalised for using the toilet and are required to spend time queueing to leave the building at a shift’s end, often being subjected to random searches- in their own time.

What says James?

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. 4 Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. 5 You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as[b] in a day of slaughter.

If I were on the Boohoo board, the passage above would terrify me.
