Winter Aconite

This winter aconite I found growing in the grounds of Elslack Church in North Yorkshire back in January. Although it is evident that it had not fully opened, it still added a wee dash of colour to an otherwise dull patch of ground. There are far more attractive flowers about in the summer, but in that cold season, the winter aconite is especially welcome.

Few Christians in 2020s Britain are prominent, colourful or impressive, but in this cold and dark time, what little we have, we appreciate.

Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3
