Word on the Wind

Strong winds battered Newby Hill last weekend. I considered taking down our vinyl Bible text as I struggled to prevent its billowing into the wind, even with its existing ropes and cords. I added a couple more, and left it. Rewardingly, a couple of people came to chapel the following Sunday because they saw the text.

Faithfulness to God’s word is sometimes awkward, inconvenient and unpopular, but the alternatives are always worse.

He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow. He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

Ps 147:18-19
