Bleeding-heart

This Lamprocapnos spectabilis or Bleeding-heart I observed growing in the grounds of Hoghton Tower in Lancashire. It is an attractive little thing, though its name is melancholic, perhaps alluding to unrequited love or intensive suffering.

The Gardenerstips website observes:

The plant is a natural woodland plant so needs protection from intense sun.

It then goes on to add:

In the north of England full sun will probably be fine. Though in warmer climates it may need protecting from glare of midday sun.

We get so little sunlight and our temperatures are so temperate, that the warnings against full sun barely apply.

Should the Lord Jesus in all His glory suddenly appear, we would all be destroyed by the brightness thereof. Thus, the glory and honour we perceive of His presence in our meetings are so mild that we do not melt. And when we see Him as He is, our new bodies will surely withstand the intensive majesty of His beauty, if such is possible.
