Crown Point

Crown Point Bridge in Leeds is a truly beautiful piece of Victoriana, which is artistically pleasing and worthy of attention. Stone and iron, a combination of heavy building materials which are usually utilitarian or oppressive, here combine well to give a light and dainty feel. Its cast-iron Gothic cusped tracery is painted white and red and is a fine entry to the impressive Yorkshire city. The architect and engineers were able to take these heavy-duty materials and render them elegant and attractive. Likewise, the Lord takes our spiritual dullness and density and, by His Spirit’s infilling and renewal, renders us increasingly light and holy until such a work is complete at our resurrections. We do not stop being human in the next life; if anything, we become more human- the type of human we were originally intended to be.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
