Evangelistic and Divine Healing Service, Elterwater

Evangelistic literature has certainly improved with time. I was shown this little invitation to an event hosted by evangelist John Bailie and Pastor Leslie Richardson of Lancaster’s Evangel Temple from July, 1972.

EVANGELISTIC AND DIVINE HEALING SERVICE IN THE PENTECOSTAL MISSION ELTERWATER NR. AMBLESIDE SAT JULY 22nd 7pm

ONE NIGHT ONLY

LESLIE A. RICHARDSON IS THE MINISTER OF "EVANGEL TEMPLE", BROCK STREET, LANCASTER .THE HEALING SERVICES OF THE CHURCH HAVE BEEN RECENTLY FEATURED ON T. V., RADIO, NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL PRESS AND MANY REMARKABLE HEALINGS HAVE TAKEN PLACE. PEOPLE HAVE TRAVELLED FROM ALL OVER THE BRITISH ISLES TO RECEIVE BLESSINGS FROM GOD.

YOU TOO WILL BE BLESSED

Notwithstanding the usual Pentecostal fascination with healings and publicity, this was a genuine attempt to bring people to a knowledge and experience of the Living God. It seems rather old fashioned now, while the graphics, colours and design of the modern leaflet is typically better. Yet the gospel is timeless, its Author eternal, the consequences of its acceptance or rejection, everlasting. Furthermore, the God who saves may also heal: our bodies, our minds, our spirits. The generous and powerful God of 1972 has neither shrunk, nor diminished, nor compromised His grace and kindness.
