FH, Darwen Hill
Can you see what I see?
On Darwen Hill, in the snow, the letters F and H may be discerned. Without the snow, they are invisible; in snow, they seem clear enough. Am I seeing things? Does my mind impose an order and sense of meaning on otherwise natural and arbitrary patterns in the dormant heather? Or am I seeing some message, a cry from one intelligent life form to another? If the latter, the communique is utterly lost on me.
I looked up the potential meanings of the letters F and H:

Quite why anyone would seek to transmit such terms in Darwen is beyond my wit. I guess people around the world must similarly consider the universe in which they live. Is it intelligently made, or just a random, accidental event? Deep down, we all know the answer.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. Psalm 19.
