Keep Sowing

The more observant may have noticed that a fine array of Welsh Poppies are growing at the western entrance to our graveyard. I sowed these several years ago, and nothing happened. I attributed this to the soil there being too dry, because of a holly bush. Yet this year they grew and blessed us with shades of orange and yellow and shall continue to do so, God willing, for years to come.

We British Christians are living in dry times; the soil is hard, the sowers few and the pests rife. Much evangelism seems to be sowing rather than reaping, and the seeds barely seem to germinate...but give it time. God gives increase even when we have forgotten the seed.

Those who sow in tears

Shall reap in joy.

He who continually goes forth weeping,

Bearing seed for sowing,

Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,

Bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:5-6, New King James Version
