Power Cut

This evening, the North West Area Congregational Federation leadership group came to Salem for its meeting. They hold their meetings in a different church each time. As a courtesy they invited me to stay. So far, so good. Then the storm arrived. It's possibly the longest thunder and lightning storm I've seen, lasting at least three hours, and moving right over the chapel into Yorkshire. All the electricity failed, and the great and good of the Congregational world were left talking to each other in darkness. Thankfully, Margaret rescued us with torches and candles.

It was also a great way of putting off doing the washing up when everybody left.
