Praying for a Peace of Babylon

At chapel this morning we prayed for the state of our nation. The uncertainty about Brexit, the fear of terror and the lack of firm government are a concern to many of us. Although our citizenship is in heaven, we take seriously Jeremiah's injunction to pray for the peace and prosperity of the nations in which we live.

Our country will not, I believe, be converted to Christ, though I believe the church is the salt of the world. As both an antiseptic and a preservative, we exist to do good in our nation. That often means interceding on its behalf to the sovereign God of heaven.
