Rose Campion

I am struck by Rose Campion’s bold colour- a deep red tinged with violet, a bold and vivacious magenta. The flower is deemed all the brighter and bolder for the contrast with its silvery white leaves. They remind me of an old man's head: grey and bare.

Show me an old man or aged woman who trusts Christ, and I’ll show you an old grey head that will one day be more fantastically colourful, vivaciously energetic and wonderfully alive than any frenetic child or teenager of earth.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength. Isaiah 40: 30-31
