Sale of Produce

This week we sent our tinned harvest produce to the food bank and auctioned the fruit and veg back to ourselves. Sadly, the auctioneer couldn’t tell a courgette from a cucumber, a lettuce from a cabbage, a grapefruit from an (admittedly yellow) orange. Still, he had the use of a proper gavel which made the affair a little more professional. £360 was raised for Wyresdale Children’s Homes, the international child-care outfit run by Mervyn and Lucy France from Knott End. Thanks to all who contributed food, and thanks to all who took it home again.
