Snow-in-summer

Cerastium tomentosum, better known as snow-in-summer, is native to Italy but has proved successful in flourishing across the globe. I grew it from seed last year, and this spring it rewarded me with attractive white flowers, cascading down the water butt upon which I had placed it. Its name instantly reminded me of Proverbs 26:1:
As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
This world honours its fools and persecutes its wise. Christ Jesus honours His own, but in due time; this is not that season.
