St Tod's Church
St Mary’s Parish Church in Todmorden looks like a small but pretty eighteenth-century parish church (1770) with a peculiar little tower stuck onto the end and facing the away from the busy town. Despite being in the very centre of Todmorden, St Mary’s looks like it is tucked away, nesting in its own corner. Yet this could not be further from the truth. As well as being fairly active, St Mary’s is very much aware of cultural developments going on around it. Each month, it hosts a ‘Rainbow Faith’ service:
An Inclusive and reflective service once per month for those who are LGBTQI+ and family, friends and allies
How very 2020s. It might have an old building in a discreet location, but St Mary’s is a neat little reflection of the latest ideology and state-sponsored morality.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
