Supreme Sentence

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, is said to have been killed in this weekend's US and Israeli attacks. War always causes destabilisation, and I fear for the Iranian people and its persecuted Christian community, as well as repercussions around the world. Iran’s Shia regime counterbalanced the Saudi Sunni regime; removing the one may well strengthen the other.

Geopolitics aside, where is Mr Khamenei now? Enjoying his virgins? Receiving cups of sparkling water from specially created little boys? Each one of us, no matter how educated and deeply pious, will stand before the God of Heaven, to give account of his words, thoughts and deeds. If he rejected the real Lord Jesus, the sin bearer, then the Ayatollah will pay for his own. Any religion that denies Jesus Christ as God and man, denies His death and resurrection, denies salvation by grace rather than good works, will truly lead its adherents to God, but as awful Judge, not loving Saviour.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
