Thrust2

This peculiar-looking vehicle is the British-made Thrust2 which Richard Noble conceived in order to claim the world land speed record which he and it held from 1983-1997, attaining 622.407mph for over one mile. This was achieved with a Rolls-Royce engine at Nevada’s Black Rock Desert but the car was constructed somewhere rather different, the Isle of Wight. It now enjoys a deserved retirement at Coventry’s Transport Museum.
God seldom operates according to our schedules; it is we who should adjust ours to His. Isaiah the prophet equates impatience with sin and rebellion in 5:19-21:
...That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
The Lord is faster than any man and anything of man’s construction, but His timings are His own and belong to the mysterious decrees of His eternal will. We tend to consider His blessings too slow and His judgements too fast, but He really does know what He is doing and should be fully trusted, both for substance and speed.
