Well Bridge Sunshine

Sunbridge Wells in Bradford is now a place of drinking and merriment, but it was once prison to Methodist evangelist, John Nelson. The long-demolished courthouse and gaol held the famous preacher in 1744 before he was forced to join the army, the liberty of which was little better than Bradford’s bleak prison.

With Christ, even the grimmest of prisons are places of His liberty while those who reject Him are loaded with irons even though they jet about here, there and everywhere. A Christian slave is free, while a Christ-rejecting free man is in bondage to his own will. In Christ, the blind see clearly, but without Him, the sighted see nothing.

And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:18, NKJV
