Wise Men Lay Up Knowledge

This little fellow flew into my French doors and was stunned. He soon roused himself and sat in a plant pot to recover. Eventually, he flew off to carry on the business of a blue tit.

I wondered if, as a result of that collision, he is wiser and better equipped to avoid flying into windows? Or did he learn nothing, dying from his injuries sustained in the next attempt to fly through a sheet of glass?

Unpleasant experiences and trying circumstances offer us lessons. Whether we choose to learn or remain ignorant, or even allow them to destroy us, is often our own decision.

Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. Proverbs 10:14
