GMP: Failures and Gimmicks

In December, Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary found that Greater Manchester Police failed to record around 80,000 crimes in one a 12-month period and closed cases without proper investigation. Yesterday’s Newsnight quoted serving police officers describing the force’s obsession with its reputation at the expense dealing with crime. Still, the senior leadership is very good at dressing up its officers in rainbow costumes. The gay and lesbian people I know would sooner have a functioning law enforcement organisation than a silly stunt show. 

 

Will you join me in praying for its officers and new Chief Constable? A failing police force only benefits the wicked.
