Lily of the Nile

I found this Lily of the Nile growing not in Egypt, but by the Thet in Norfolk. It reminded me of the account of the young Moses, placed in a basket. In Exodus 2, when the child is floating down the Nile, his mother must have wondered what would become of him. Yet placing the child on his little bed bobbing down the river was God’s plan from the start. How else would he be raised in a palace, for just at that very moment

…the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside;

Sometimes we must release to God that which we would keep. Other mothers kept hold of their sons- and lost them. Perhaps these flowers were then growing by the riverbank, a beautiful reminder of the beautiful riches God has planned for those who trust Him.
