Mountain Cornflower

This Mountain Cornflower I observed growing on a lane close by the Yorkshire village of Cracoe. Its leaves are evergreen, so it makes the most of the light in winter and early spring when trees are bare, to make up for the shade of summer. Europe’s Christian summer is well and truly over, but there is enough light to see us through this cold period. Light is found in God’s word, the Bible, which is best shared in fellowship with each other, in prayer and communion. We Christians are few in number, and the climate is chilly, but light there is.

And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. NKJV, 2 Peter 1:19
