Princess Charlotte

There's been much celebration about the royal birth, and much anticipation about the royal name. Charlotte Elizabeth Diana Windsor seems a good choice. Of course many outside the UK and even within question the concept of an hereditary monarchy, one neither elected nor consulted upon. I myself support the monarchy, but can see the problems others might have with it in a democratic country. I'm not going to spend time here, however, advocating the virtues of our constitutional monarchy, and there are many. But I am going to draw the parallel between the royal birth, and Jesus Christ, who is the King of kings, and Lord of lords. Jesus is King, not because we have chosen Him, and certainly not because He won an election. He is king simply because He is. Paul writes in Philippians 2:14:

so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
