On Sunday I spent a pleasant day among the folk of Quernmore (pronounced Quor-mer as in former). You get to it by driving through the Trough of Bowland. It's one of the villages through which you descend before reaching Lancaster. The chapel is on the main road and at the heart of the village.

Here is a church with a passion for biblical truth and the gospel. It has an excellent worship group, combining sound modern songs with traditional harvest hymns in a sensitive and meaningful way.

They had a church lunch afterwards and I was treated to the further delight of tea in the company of Dick and Jane Gorst.

I can't say what they felt, but I was blessed to be among them. You can read more about them here: http://www.northlancsmethodistcircuit.org.uk/quernmore.htm
