Updating my Diversity

I have received the following email from some middle-manager within Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service for which I am known to volunteer 1-2 times per month:

[Name of initiative] will enable you to check your personal information and update your diversity information. This will make your personal data more secure as fewer people will be able to access your information. You will receive video guidance once the system has launched, which sets out what steps you need to take to update your diversity information.

This comes as a mighty relief. I sometimes lose sleep over how and when I might update my diversity information. For example, what if I choose to change my gender and don’t get round to telling everyone? What if I choose to identity as a ‘person of colour’ while retaining my genetic skin pigmentation, thus making it harder for people to recognise this? Well, this new initiative sets my mind at ease. Tonight, I shall sleep soundly in my bed.

Don’t allow the prevailing ideology to categorize and compartmentalise you. You are a human being, made in God’s image, designed to be in relationship with Him.
