Westringia Fruticosa

Westringia Fruticosa is an attractive flowering plant that enjoys the sunshine and breezes of the New South Wales coast. There seem to be few interesting facts about it, so I almost gave up trying to write anything. Yet I found this phrase on one of the gardening sites:

Once established this rosemary-like shrub needs little attention.

This is also pretty boring, right? Yet how great a blessing must it be to the gardener knowing that it won’t wilt and die for the pettiest reason. A dependable, reliable plant that will concentrate on the business of growing and flowering. Writes James in 5:8:

You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

The Lord does not call us to be spectacular and showy, but to be established and able to endure to the end.
